After installation, the game will create an icon and allow you to start playing. You can now safely delete spades32.exe (or spades16.exe) to conserve disk space. INSTALLATION FROM A STANDARD ZIP FILE (OR MANUAL EXTRACT FROM EXE): Extract the Zip file to any directory and then double-click or 'Run' setup.exe (not from a DOS prompt) and the game will install itself and create a game icon. You can now erase the original spades32.zip (or spades16.zip) file. INSTALLATION FROM SETUP DIRECTORY OR DISKETTES: Run setup.exe and follow the prompts to install. MIDI SONG FILE LICENSES FOR INCLUDED MIDI 'JUKEBOX' All MIDI sound files included with Championship Spades (including those in the MIDI add-on pack) were obtained from public domain MIDI archives on the Internet for private, non-commercial use. Some distributions of Championship Spades come with a MIDI add-on pack pre-installed for the user's convenience and personal enjoyment. The files included with this MIDI add-on pack are favorite MIDI songs to play in the jukebox to accompany Championship Spades games. These songs were recreated on keyboard by private musicians and are not direct recordings, which are strictly copyrighted. All of these MIDIs were obtained from public domain sources on the Internet and, after consulting with "Kohn on Music Licensing" and the Harry Fox Agency, it appears that there are no copyright issues as long as these files are used for personal use and that they are not being publicly performed or sold for profit. There is no additional cost for the MIDI add-on pack and versions without it cost the same to register. For those CD or Web archives with copyright paranoia, a version of Championship Spades is available with only a handful of original MIDI files that I have explicit written permission from the authors to use. Details on these compositions are listed below: "Sunshine In The Forest" is an original composition by the webmaster from 'MIDI Files For Web Pages' (sorry, they did not give their name) and has released his collection into the public domain at http://www.rosemart.com/sitelist/midis.htm The remainder of the MIDI files included with Championship Spades (without the MIDI add-on pack) are classical tunes arranged by various amateur artists and the MIDI files have been released into the public domain. The actual songs are already in the public domain due to their age.
